Mermaid Tasha books make learning fun by introducing students to 
                    conservation and marine biology through fun mermaid adventures. 

 

While my books are perfect for elementary students, author visits can be conducted for all grade levels and are customized to fit educational recommendations for that grade. One-hour visits begin with a discussion of the writing process - why I write the books, how I write the books, the research process, and the editing and publishing process. Shorter sessions for younger students focus on the content of the book. Both presentations are done with interactive visual aids and conclude with time for questions and answers and personalization of any books purchased for the students themselves. 

Students will discover how the skills they’re learning (writing, research, editing) apply to real life by hearing from a published author. They’ll also determine the importance of environmental education and how they can inspire others to make a difference.

 

Author visits are more impactful when the students are familiar with the author’s work. I offer discounts to schools that wish to purchase my books directly through me. I can also provide Student Discount Forms for students that will want their own copies, that you can send out to parents ahead of my visit.

 

Teacher resources, including vocabulary words, comprehension questions, and electronic scavenger hunts will also be provided to schools and teachers that book a visit.
